Attention, my fellow Keith Haring enthusiasts! This coming September 24th, Sotheby's will be hosting a great online auction. This auction is dedicated to raising money for New York City LGBTQ non-profit center. The reason why this auction is so particular is that the auction will serve as an opportunity for collectors to immerse themselves in Keith Haring's life through his personal collection. The title of the auction is "Dear Keith: Works from Keith Haring's Personal Collection." The sale also includes works by Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Kenny Scharf, George Condo, Jenny Holzer, and Lee Quiñones, and Roy Lichtenstein. These works have been acquired, sold, or donated to the late artist.
Harrison Tenzer, Head of Sotheby's Contemporary Art Online Sales in New York, said in a press release:
This upcoming auction is organized by the Keith Haring Foundation. They guarantee that they will be showing works that have not appeared at the auction before. Also, the sale coincides with the 30th anniversary of the artist's death.
