[NEWS]Turner Prize 2022 to be hosted by Liverpool for first time in 15 years.

The Turner Prize was established in 1984 by Tate Britain, a leading organization of contemporary British art. the award, which will be honored as Britain's most prestigious contemporary art award, is also very influential in popularizing contemporary art.

The renowned event will be held at the <Tate Liverpool gallery> together with an exhibition exploring connections with Britain's rural landscapes 
in 2022. 

Malcolm Morley(painter in USA), Gilbert and George(visual artist in U.K), Anish Kapoor(sculptor in U.K), Gillian Wearing(photographer in U.K) are the main characters of the award. they are considered famous artists who represent modern art. In 2007, the venue became the first place outside London to present the prize, before it went to other cities including Newcastle, Hull and Margate.

Liverpool Mayor Joanne Anderson said the event would "shine a global spotlight" on the city. 
This summer we are seeing some wonderful cultural work take place, but 2022 is certainly going to be a bumper year in the city for major events and arts.

An independent jury will announce the Turner Prize shortlist in May next year. The exhibition will open in October, with a winner announced in December.  
The Turner Prize winner is awarded £25,000 with £10,000 going to each of the others shortlisted.
